An interesting web-based tool I might use while teaching is google scholar (http://www.googlescholar.com/) for research. I like this tool because it has a lot of accurated info. Students will be able to research on various subjects.
The google scholar is good for academic sources. I would use google scholar because it is popular too. Also google scholar is easily accesable.
A technology skill I would like to most learn next is refurbishing a computer, because I had to get my computer refurbished from having a virus, and the process was simple I wished I would have learned it myself so that I wouldn't have to pay to have it done.
I would like to achieve my future educational techonolgy-related goals through staying updated with technology and continue to practice different skills I've learned through this course.

Chapter 8 dicussed security issues, ethics, and emerging technologies in education. securities issues are very important. It breifly dicussed terms like virus and worms. It had good info.
It is good to read about security issues because everyone is at risks for these things. It's good to stay protected. It's good to minimize the chances of encounering a security issue.
Continueing with my assignments right now. Waiting for the semester to end so I can take a breathe. Taking it easy.

Chapter 7 was about evaluating educational technology. It briefly dicussed what is appropriate. I like the rubric it has because the table is good for evaluating.
I liked to read about evaluating technology. It is bad that some sources are not accurate and very misleading. This was good info for me.

Chapter 6 was interesting to read. It related to how technology and digital media is used for curriculum. It briefly described education and curriculum.
It was good to read about curriculum intergration. It is especially useful for teaching. It shows how the class room is evolving.

Chapter 5 discussed digital media. It explained the terms technology, multimedia, digital media, and digital software. It was interesting to read about things related to multimedia like text, graphics, animation, audio, and video.
Reading the chapter help me gain more info about digital media. I know how the media is set up and things that are related to it. It was interesting.

Post # 4
Chapter 4 discussed the importance of hardware. I think this is interesting because technology is changing everyday therefore people are likely to upgrade more often with newer hardware. It is interesting to learn about the technical aspects of the system unit.
I am continuing to use the blog website. I'm also applying the search methods to my daily activities to find the most info and accurate info while searching on the internet. The search method helps me to narrow broad topics to find what I'm looking for.
I'm hoping to learn new skills from this class. I want to apply my skills to daily activities. Hopefully I'll use these skills throughout the rest of college and in my career.

Post # 2
Chapter 2 speaks on different aspects of the internet. It is interesting to see how classrooms have transformed by adding computer and internet skills to children learning. It is also interesting how just about anything can be searced on the internet.
The webhunt assignment helped me learn how to use more areas of Google. It was a good activity for search skills. This can help a lot in the future.
The class book is good. I've learned a lot from it. I like how it break down different aspects of computer technology.

After viewing Chapter 1 in the textbook I learned a lot of useful information. Some of the things I learned about could be incorporated into my daily life for social and personal purposes. For example I learned that digital media can allow me to communicate in various ways with others. I learned that a personal computer can help organize myself. Also that embedded computer in a car can help me while I travel. All of these things are very useful in daily living.
Some skills that I learned about in the previous class was how to set up a blog. Although I have a facebook account and a myspace account I haven't acquiered many skills to navigate through those sites and use them frequently. It was interesting to learn how to set up a blog.
Today in class I set up the SAM program. I hope to use this program for class and my personal preference to improve my computer skills. I look forward to learning many new things.

My major is Rehab. Counseling Services and I'm a junior. Hopefully I'll graduate within a year and secure a career. I'm most interested in working with the elderly preferably at an Rehab. Hospital.
My experience with using technology started at a very young age in elementary school. I have used computes for most of life, as far as other technology like t.v. and radio and other electronics I have pretty much been using them for quite awhile also. I believe I have become very dependent on technology. I usually take my time to learn new technology and sometimes this can help but it can also become a problem if I don't catch on quickly.
My expectations for this class is to improve on my computer skills and be able to relay what I've learned to others. I would like to have a grounded reference of computer skills for further uses in my personal and social life.
